Terms of Service

Last updated: June 15, 2026 · Effective immediately for new accounts; existing accounts are notified by email.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, clicking "I confirm I am authorized to scan this target" before initiating any scan, or otherwise using Shieldome, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the service.

2. The Authorization Requirement — Your Core Obligation

You must have explicit, verifiable authorization from the system owner before scanning any target. Scanning a system you do not own or control without written permission from its owner is illegal in most jurisdictions and is a material breach of these Terms.

Before each scan, Shieldome requires you to confirm: "I confirm I am authorized to perform a security scan on this target." By checking that box, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the target domain/IP, or
  • You hold written authorization from the target's owner to conduct security testing, and
  • Your scan complies with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.

This confirmation is logged with a timestamp, your account ID, and the target URL. It constitutes a legally binding declaration.

3. User Responsibility and Sole Liability for Scans

You, the user, are solely and exclusively responsible for every scan you initiate. Shieldome is a tool. We have no knowledge of, control over, or involvement in what you choose to scan. The act of initiating a scan is entirely your decision and your legal responsibility.

Specifically, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You bear full legal responsibility for determining whether you are authorized to scan any given target.
  • Shieldome bears no responsibility for any scan you initiate, regardless of whether the target was authorized.
  • You are responsible for compliance with all computer crime laws, cybersecurity regulations, data protection laws, and terms of service of third-party systems applicable to your scanning activity.
  • Shieldome's passive detection methodology does not excuse unauthorized scanning — even read-only probes may constitute unauthorized computer access under applicable law.

4. Passive Assessment Only

Shieldome performs passive vulnerability assessment and proof-of-concept detection only. The service does not perform active exploitation, reverse-shell attacks, data exfiltration, or any action designed to damage, alter, or destroy target systems. All injection checks use benign markers (e.g., <shieldome-probe>) that detect error indicators without causing harm. You agree not to attempt to use the service for destructive purposes or to circumvent these limitations.

5. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Shieldome, its operators, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to:

  • Your use or misuse of the service;
  • Any scan you initiate, whether authorized or unauthorized;
  • Your violation of these Terms;
  • Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party;
  • Any claim by a third party that you scanned their systems without authorization.

This indemnification obligation survives termination of your account and these Terms.

6. Account Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including scans initiated by anyone with access to your account.
  • You must provide accurate registration information.
  • Accounts may not be shared or transferred without our consent.
  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
  • You must not create accounts to circumvent plan limits, suspensions, or bans.

7. Prohibited Uses

You may not use Shieldome to:

  • Scan systems you do not own or are not explicitly authorized to test.
  • Scan critical infrastructure, government systems, financial systems, or healthcare systems without documented authorization from the appropriate authority.
  • Conduct reconnaissance for the purpose of planning or assisting an unauthorized attack.
  • Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or clone the scanning engine or its algorithms.
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide third-party access to the service without our written consent.
  • Interfere with the platform's infrastructure or degrade service quality for other users.
  • Use the service for any illegal purpose under applicable law.
  • Automate scan submissions in a manner that constitutes a denial-of-service attack on any target.

8. Subscription, Billing and Refund Policy

Digital service delivery: Shieldome provides instant, electronic delivery of all services. Scan tokens are credited to your account immediately upon successful payment. SaaS subscriptions are activated immediately. There is no physical shipment.

  • Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance, in the currency selected at checkout (RSD, EUR, or USD). Charges are processed in Serbian Dinars (RSD); foreign-currency amounts are for reference only and the final charge depends on the exchange rate of your card-issuing bank.
  • You may cancel a SaaS subscription at any time; your access continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial-period refunds are issued on cancellation.
  • Token packs are non-refundable once purchased, because the digital credits are delivered to your account immediately and irrevocably upon payment confirmation.
  • Refunds for billing errors (duplicate charges, incorrect amounts) are processed exclusively through Raiffeisen Bank a.d. Beograd and the card associations Visa and Mastercard by reversing (full or partial storno) the original transaction. Shieldome will, upon verified written request to [email protected], instruct the bank to execute the refund to the cardholder's account within 14 business days. Please include your order confirmation email and a description of the discrepancy.
  • SaaS free trial: The 14-day trial period requires no payment information. If you upgrade to a paid plan and wish to cancel within the first 48 hours of the paid period, a full refund may be issued at our sole discretion upon written request.
  • We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers via email.
  • Promotional codes are single-use and cannot be combined with other offers.

9. Disclaimers and No Warranties

Shieldome is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Completeness or accuracy of scan results — we do not guarantee that all vulnerabilities will be detected;
  • Fitness for a particular purpose, including compliance with security standards or regulations;
  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation of the service.

Security assessments are point-in-time snapshots. New vulnerabilities may emerge at any time after a scan completes. Results must be validated by a qualified security professional before acting on them. Shieldome is not a substitute for professional security consulting.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Shieldome's total aggregate liability for any and all claims arising from these Terms or your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid to Shieldome in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
  • Shieldome is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, business interruption, or cost of substitute services.
  • Shieldome is not liable for any damages arising from scans you initiate, including unauthorized scans, regardless of whether Shieldome was advised of the possibility of such damages.
  • These limitations apply to all theories of liability: contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise.

11. Intellectual Property

The Shieldome platform — including its scanning engine, algorithms, UI, and branding — is proprietary software. Scan results and PDF reports generated from your authorized scans belong to you. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process and store scan data solely for the purpose of providing the service.

12. Abuse Reporting

If you believe someone is using Shieldome to scan your systems without authorization, please submit an abuse report. We take all reports seriously and will investigate. Substantiated reports will result in immediate account suspension and may be reported to law enforcement.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without notice if you violate these Terms, particularly the authorization requirement. Upon termination: access is revoked immediately; scan history may be retained for legal compliance; indemnification obligations survive termination. You may terminate your account at any time via account settings or a support ticket.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Serbia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms or your use of Shieldome shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Belgrade, Serbia. If you are a consumer in the EU, you retain any mandatory consumer protection rights granted by the law of your country of residence.

15. Changes to Terms

We will notify registered users of material changes via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using the service and request account deletion before the effective date.
